Skaven Maid Gallery

Not a blog post today, but an experiment both with the website and with the content I publish.

tl;dr: there is a new Gallery section on my website, where I will show more images than in my travel posts — images that don’t have a particular narrative beyond being a photo session. And you can enjoy the first gallery uploaded — Skaven Maid.

One of the images from the gallery. A skaven main sitting near a pole.

Now, this particular costume, the model, and the place all have a converging story that is not linear in any sense. The costume was partially designed for live-action role-playing games a long time ago, and was reimagined on a trip to Bolivia. That same costume was presented there and won a prize for best costume at a festival. A friend of one of my friends lives in Tbilisi and has a place to shoot in, with equipment. And, just as it coincidentally happens, we gathered in Tbilisi — a lot of people with their own cameras, and one model with a costume. So we had a lot of fun shooting this set.

With this, please enjoy the unedited images from the photoshoot.

On the technical side, I decided it was a good time to get better acquainted with Cloudflare R2 and its image transformation stack. The occasion seemed just right to publish this as something separate from the blog posts.
